  • Leave Roam West and join the cycle trail towards Fort William, pick up the Corran Ferry and travel across the loch, a fun start to the ride. Turn right when you disembark, let the traffic pass and enjoy a few kilometres of empty single track. On your right you can see Ben Nevis in the distance towering above Fort William. With Loch Linnhe on your right you may see yachts on the way through the Great Glen travelling to the east coast.

  • When you approach the first left junction, marked with a bumper car, yes a dodgem, remain on the road and continue over two small bridges and take the left track which doubles back on yourself.  The estate road passes a few houses on your right until the hills take charge and you enter the glen slowly climbing.  A good estate track winds its way up the glen with the river on your left.  Keep your eyes peeled on the way as the river turns into a gorge small bridges cross for a very scenic river image.  You will be drawn to the incredible Caledonian Spruce that grows on the hill side to your left.  The trees are part of an ancient woodland and whatever time of year capture the look of the glen and how Scotland once looked.

  • The track winds its way until the glen closes in a little and eventually runs into a foot path.  You have been climbing for a while so as you turn around to head home enjoy the wind in your wheels and more of a free ride return to Roam West.

  • There is further adventure and the real second half for those looking for a full long day out.  Check our second Cona Half for this adventure!

  • Don’t forget a critical pit stop at the Ardgour brewery to see Fergus and Liz, get hydrated and roll on back to Roam West.
